Natural Cosmetics: How, Why, and Why Not?
We are witnessing the modern era of humanity, where industry has taken over every segment of our lives. In this process, the quality of services, products, and lifestyles has been lost, replaced by an endless quantity and the illusion of perfect appearance.
The bright spot in all of this is that lately, awareness about the unhealthy industrialization of everything is increasingly being raised.
As a civilization, we have finally started paying attention to ecology, environmental protection, and some “common-sense” matters. We catch ourselves, however, glancing at the “uglier” tomato with real tomato flavor, even though next to it sits the bland but artificially enhanced clone. Right?
So, there is hope…
We are beginning to pay attention to what we eat, what we drink, and how many plastic bags we can replace with just one reusable tote.
Now, what else do we use every day besides food and drink, without even realizing it?
Exactly… cosmetics.
Here is our chance to help the environment even more, and ourselves even more.
Natural cosmetics have always attracted us, and we saw a special value in them. In the end, we found enjoyment, play, and relaxation in them. We allowed ourselves to stay creative, and in doing so, we created a final product that is completely natural.
For us, this is more than enough reason to keep embarking on this journey and to enjoy the adventure.
Benefits of Natural Cosmetics
Healthier and richer
Our skin has the ability to absorb certain substances; however, it also serves as a “defensive wall” against harmful materials, protecting our body. Various studies have shown that excessive and daily use of industrial products irritates and tires the skin because it struggles with substances it does not want to absorb, which are present in industrial products. When using cosmetics, one should follow a simple rule:
“If I can’t eat it, I don’t want it on my skin either.”
More effective over time
Many natural products are more effective than their industrial competitors because they do not contain unnecessary supplements and additives.
Although some industrial products work more efficiently after the first use, after a long period of time harmful substances accumulate on our skin, irritating and damaging it.
Like in the race between the tortoise and the hare, the tortoise still wins in the end. 🙂
Preserves the sense of smell
Artificial scents and perfumes are designed to mask the smells of chemicals used in traditional cosmetic products. The result is that one chemical hides another, creating a continuous cycle. Natural products do not cause headaches and do not smell like a cocktail of chemicals. Instead, natural products use pure essential oils for fragrance, which also provide an aromatherapeutic effect.

Konvencionalni proizvodi mogu sadržati sastojke koji štetno utiču na životno okruženje. Proizvodnja ovakvih proizvoda ispušta štetne materije u reke i vazduh, a na kraju odlazi i kroz naš odvod dalje u prirodu. Prilikom proizvodnje i korišćenja proizvoda prirodne kozmetike koriste se organski sastojci koji i ako dospeju u životnu sredinu ne zagađuju je.

One of the main ingredients in conventional cosmetic products is parabens. Parabens are used as preservatives to extend the shelf life of products.
They are actually synthetic substances that mimic human hormones, which is why there is concern that excessive exposure may affect the functioning of our body’s endocrine system. Artificial substances like this can help a product in one way, but they also lead to a range of unwanted effects.
Natural cosmetic products do not use synthetic preservatives, or they use natural preservatives that do not harm our body (for example, grape seeds are one of the natural ingredients used as a preservative).
Irritation-Free
Chemicals, artificial colors, and additives in conventional cosmetic products can cause redness, irritation, or cracking of the skin. Many people are even allergic to some of
ingredients in conventionally produced cosmetics.
Although some consider natural cosmetics a luxury, we witness that health has no price, and natural products offer much more than it seems at first glance.
